Plans to celebrate the 75th anniversary of King’s Park in Retford are gathering steam, with more entertainment being added to the bill.
From 11am-7pm on 29th June, 75 years to the day since the park was officially opened, King’s Park will host an event packed with music, activities and games to celebrate.
Music from each of the seven decades of the park’s life, dance troops, theatrical displays and face-painting are just some of the attractions planned by Bassetlaw District Council and Totally Locally to celebrate the milestone.
The park will also host a giant paintball arena, and local communities groups will hold stalls for visitor to browse, buy and play.
Retford businesses will also get involved, with different streets in town themed to different decades.
Councillor Julie Leigh, portfolio holder for neighbourhoods said: “King’s Park is a fantastic facility that we are privileged to have in Bassetlaw, and this event will celebrate everything that is good about Retford and Bassetlaw.”
