A Worksop teacher is raising over £1,000 for charity after running to work - from Doncaster.
Mark Wolverson, who teaches PE at Outwood Academy Portland, set off at 4.45 on Monday morning and completed the 24 miles in around 3:15 for Macmillan Cancer Support and the British Heart Foundation.
His tutor group joined him in running the last mile, and students and teachers cheered him through the gates.
Mr Wolverson said: “I’ve been overwhelmed by the support, the response from everyone has been brilliant.
“The kids have been using their talents to help too - we’ve had a football tournament, quiz and nail art this week.”
Mark will be pushing himself again this month by running in the Edinburgh Marathon.
He explained: “One side of my family has a history of heart disease, and the other of cancer.”
I was inspired by Jane Tomlinson’s struggles, and thought I could be doing something to help too.”
