Linda McAvan, Labour MEP for Yorkshire, has welcomed European Commission proposals for tougher regulation on the tobacco industry.
The legislation, if adopted by MEPs and Government ministers, would include the mandatory covering 75 per cent of cigarette packaging with health warnings.
