Team members from Wilkinsons’ Head Office store in Worksop have been going the extra mile for their local community by embarking on a sponsored walk for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance (LNAA), raising over £500 for the charity.
Joined by fellow team members from the Priory Centre store, the six walkers donned charity t-shirts and hiked 10 miles around the Ladybower Reservoir, to raise cash for the good cause.
The donation was made as part of Wilkinsons’ commitment to support a regional charity with services in the local community and saw team members dig deep for the LNAA, spurring on shoppers, friends and family for sponsorship.
Head office store manager Jonathan Baker said the sponsored walk was a great success and plenty of fun which raised money for a really worthwhile charity.
“We couldn’t be more pleased that we are supporting the LNAA, which we as a team nominated as our regional charity of the year, as it provides such an important emergency service to local people.”
Notts manager at the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Jim Vickrage said we are very grateful for all the support we’ve received from the teams after being chosen as their charity of the year.
“Every pound makes a difference to us and we’d like to thank everyone who donated towards the sponsored walk – it was a great achievement for all involved,” he said.
